Week 6 - Final Documentations/Reports/Rationale

Week 6 - Final User Journey Report

Week 6 - HTML Coded Article Page

Here is the screencap of the final HTML coding for this assignment.

I tried re-creating the article page base on my invision prototype. It was not as accurate as I was hoping for but I was able to code the layout. A few details were missing like the search engine bar, and page icon for "Top Stories/Opinion" section. I was also not able to place the logo of Dominion Post to the centre--- at the end, I decided to keep it on the left than having it off the centre.

I also add images on this coding to help achieve the look I was aiming for.

Week 6 - Iterations towards final hand in

Below are some iterations done before the hand ins and response to the feedbacks from the presentation last tuesday (May 31).

Menu icon for Mobile - I've changed the menu icon (hamburger), as the list was going across the page. The previous icon is expected to be a drop down--which was not the intent of my design. This suggestion was from my peers, when we did the user testing.

Weather Section - It was added last minute to the design. I also used this to improve the user journey of Persona 02 (Hemi). There is a drop down option on Mobile prototype and an extra feature on the Desktop.

Page Icon - this beside the headline links to indicate it is a clickable item and not just a body copy. It is of the things pointed out from peer presentation.

Updated Website Layout - A few more things were considered in improving the layout of the website. Type settings and spacing were improved, plus few more details were added.

Week 6 - Sitemap/User Journey (Final Presentation & Feedbacks)

The final presentation has helped me on improving the design of the prototypes. It gave me some ideas were I can tweak and push further the user journeys. Minor errors were also pointed out on our user testing---I think this was very helpful, as this are the details I did not notice while working on the project.

Week 5 - Updated Invision Prototypes

For Week 5, I kept on reworking/improving and testing my prototypes. More details were added to improve the look of the Mobile & Desktop prototype.

I was also able to ask my peers to do a user testing for my Invision prototype. Their feedbacks were really helpful--- as it gives me ideas where my design/user journey can go wrong.

I had to reconsider (again), renaming my category links. I had to changed the news and local paper to "national & world" in order for the user journey to go smoothly. This decision was base on the user test my peers did.

One of my peers also suggested that my headlines for mobile prototype were too short.

Week 5 - Invision Prototypes (Desktop)

These are the early versions for the desktop prototype. The layout was improved base from the feedbacks I got from the interim presentation. I simplified some details but kept the side navigation feature.
